ABOUT

So, curious about the creator, you are? Hmm?

Honestly? I can’t say I blame you. Any person who debuts their art to the world with a half-naked sea-person on it, with arms outstretch saying “Take Me Now!” must not be firing on ALL cylinders.

Or perhaps, it was the selfie with the fluffy ALPACA that brought you in. It TEMPTED you. Made you question “is that REAL? Did he ACTUALLY time a perfect portrait with a such a wild and uncanny BEAST??”

Yes.

YES, the photo is real. YES, he managed to tame the uncanny beast, and YES, he IS wearing a shirt with the silhouette of a Moose on it.

Now, before you click the back button on your browser, let me actually get to the meat and potatoes of this page. Ladies and Gentlemen…Kyle Alexander.

As a child, imagination-fuelled daydreams kept Kyle’s head in the clouds. Movie-like settings would appear in his mind. Scene-after-scene, they played out in front of him. An avid watcher of movies and TV, our young protagonist would hang on tightly to the story lines, waiting with anticipation to see how they would play out.

“Growing up” was absolutely no different. As an eternal “child at heart”, Kyle spent years exploring various creative avenues, telling stories to anyone and everyone who would listen.

For 10 YEARS, Kyle sang and played guitar in the progressive rock band, Alyeus (seriously, check them out: Spotify, Apple Music, bandcamp, etc). Being ENTIRELY concept based, Kyle was able to tell stories through music.

However…it wasn’t enough.

And remained that way until 2016, when Kyle’s life-path tilted. Being a fan of “fandom” for the majority of his life, and having attended a few comic conventions (2014 being the first), Kyle decided to buy his first comic book (Amazing Spider-man #259, to be exact). Suddenly, WHAM! Kyle was hit with an epiphany, “Where the heck has this been all my life??” he said. Immediately, our protagonist knew THIS was how he was going to tell his stories. The only problem was, how in the world was he going to do it?

After travelling to numerous conventions throughout the USA and Canada, and seeking advice from MANY of comics brightest minds, Kyle started to form his game plan, and truly started to believe that this new adventure MIGHT actually be possible.

Well, it took awhile. But, in the process, Kyle discovered a true love for the art form. He never thought in his wildest dreams he would become an artist, but he really found himself while learning. No longer was this “something he needed to finish”, it’s become so much more to him; a passion project.

A key moment, was in January 2020, after almost 2.5 years later (once he  made the initial decision to create a comic book series), the first book rolled off the printing press: OCEANITE: Part One. Much to Kyle’s delight.

In his spare time, when not creating comics, reading comics or attending conventions, Kyle spends time with his beautiful wife Alyna, and their 2 kids.

Please come visit Kyle at any of his signing events (when they are allowed again), and tell your friends. If you do, please let him know if you actually read all the way to the bottom of this biography, as he’s pretty confident most people left after the alpaca picture.
