OCEANITE Revisited

Hey All,

It’s certainly been a minute since I’ve made a post on the Keepsake Comics site. Back in Feb 2020 I released OCEANITE: Part One and was feeling the love and the energy off the initial release, but literally one month later the Pandemic shut everything down across North America, including the very early steam my OCEANITE steam engine was gaining.

It sucked.

But the pandemic was a small blessing in disguise, in regard to OCEANITE. In almost every other area, this pandemic has been horrific. Being forced to stay at home allowed me to really hunker down and work on the series.

I was able to finish the second issue entirely, and completed the cover to issue 3, but just as I was about to settle into the interior pages of number three I took a step back and looked at the series as a whole.

Part Two is really such a jumping off point for the rest of the book, and in a way is like a #1 issue, however, the events in Part One need to be in place for that to happen. When I stood back, I noticed that I was missing a certain flow in Part One that all the rest of the issues had. So I got to work.

I began rearranging the pages, and adding in some new pages, and really tweaking it so it had a much more organic flow.

I couldn’t be happier with the revamped Part One, and am already half way through the new pages (which I’m essentially re-drawing again….which I feel will represent the story better). I plan on having this book ready for “re-“release June 2022. Followed quickly by Part Two.

I’m also taking the time to rebrand myself as a creator. For years I’ve played in a band, Alyeus, and gone as Kyle Alexander (my middle name), so to carry on that creative side of my life, I will continue to do so through comics.

Those of you who purchased an original copy of OCEANITE: Part One, I will in return happily give you a copy of the new revamped PART ONE Free of charge when I see you next. That initial run was incredibly limited, and there are only 111 of them out there in the wild. If you are one of the lucky ones to have a copy, hang on to it, as they will never be reprinted.

Here’s a sneak peak of one of the new revamped pages. Guys, it’s gonna be good!

Talk soon!
